Agile Protein Blog

Welcome to our humble Agile Protein Blog on which we will publish our thoughts and experiences regarding everything agile. However, do not think that we will limit ourselves just to writing about Scrum and software development. On the contrary!

This is of course our English Agile Protein Blog on our English website. If you speak Polish then we strongly advise you to check out #białko, our Polish brand. There is a separate blog there too.

Why Agile Protein?

That’s one joke we have to explain. Our venture started when we all worked on one project and as Scrum Masters we were divided into several groups. Our group was “group B” which we renamed “Białko” which in Polish means “protein”. The name (un)fortunately stuck and that’s the name of our Polish brand and company.

When looking for handles on social media we decided to, just in case, pick something in English. “Protein” didn’t sound funny enough so we added “Agile” to better represent what we are about. Hence, Agile Protein.

Agile Protein Blog

We’ve taught hundreds of people in the ways of Scrum and from those experiences alone we had a lot of content to share. Moreover, we also worked on agile projects and survived many challenges. We particularly enjoy working on big scale Scrum and agile transformations.

That alone seems like it’s enough for us to write endlessly but there’s more. We love reading and pondering on human interactions, mindsets, pop-psychology and all that. That’s what our Polish YouTube channel is all about. And that’s what we want to write about here on our Agile Protein Blog.

Psychology, risk management, estimations, influence, negotiations, statistic, probability theory, decision making, cognitive biases – those are areas that we think you should focus on when you’re dealing with agile software development methods like Scrum.

That’s what we like and that’s what we will focus on as there are already plenty of “technical” Scrum blogs and books. Scrum is our main deal when it comes to our work. But we mainly write and record our videos for fun and as such we prefer to mix things up.

Scrum Workshops

Why do we care about all that? Where do those interests come from? We’re empirics at heart and we’ve met hundreds, maybe even thousands of different people trying to work together in various agile environments. We’ve seen them interacting with each other and we have a lot of ideas on what works and what doesn’t (and why).

Very often people in IT avoid “difficult” topics or ignore reality and just stay in the realm of the textbook Scrum. We, on the other hand, thrive when things get difficult. We love to poke around and fix things instead of ignoring them.

That’s why we say we don’t do Scrum trainings but workshops. We engage people, especially those who are against Scrum or agile approach. It’s not like their arguments are without any merit. We believe we can convince them and usually we get many ideas for our Agile Protein Blog in the process.
